Play, Delight & Spiritual Celebration

📖 Scripture Focus:
Psalm 126:2 – “Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy.”
✨ Devotional Commentary
Joy isn’t just a bonus—it’s a birthright. Scripture paints joy as a response to restoration, a sign of God’s nearness, and a sacred part of healing. Psalm 126 reminds us that laughter and celebration are not frivolous—they’re holy. Reclaiming wholeness means making space for delight, even in the midst of recovery. Joy doesn’t erase pain, but it reminds us that pain doesn’t get the final word.
💭 Personal Reflection
I laughed today. Like, really laughed. The kind that bubbles up from somewhere deep and surprises you. It wasn’t planned. I was just dancing around my kitchen, singing badly to a song I love, and suddenly—I felt light.
For so long, joy felt off-limits. Like I had to earn it. Like I wasn’t allowed to feel good until everything was fixed. But today, I let myself play. I let myself be silly. And I felt God in it. Not watching from a distance, but joining in. Smiling with me.
I’m learning that joy isn’t the opposite of grief—it’s what makes grief bearable. It’s what reminds me I’m still alive. Still healing. Still held. And that laughter, even in small bursts, is a sacred kind of resistance.
