When the Date on the Calendar Feels Different Than I Expected
When an important date begins to carry fear and uncertainty, it can be difficult to stay present. Psalm 31:15 reminds us that our times are in God’s hands.
Bible-based encouragement for difficult moments, heavy days, and everyday battles.

I stayed quiet as my workload grew, but when I finally spoke, I was made to feel like a failure.
Christ met me when anxiety and PTSD became disabling and work was no longer possible.
July brought grief, wedding preparations, anniversary memories, physical limits, and more pressure than I realized I was carrying. God began showing me the difference between loving people and trying to control every outcome.
Chronic pain has changed what I can do, but it has not erased my worth or purpose. I am learning that faithfulness does not have to look the way it did before my health changed.
Have you ever felt like slowing down meant falling behind? I did too—until God began showing me that faithfulness isn’t measured by exhaustion.
Today’s devotional explores the freedom that comes from trusting His pace instead of our own.
Hi friend,
I used to believe strength meant handling everything on my own.
The harder life became, the harder I pushed. I worked longer, worried more, and carried responsibilities that were never mine to carry alone.
One morning, I opened my laptop to write a devotional, but my mind was already racing through unfinished conversations, unanswered messages, and problems I kept trying to solve on my own.
Then I read Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3:16 that we would be “strengthened in our inner being.”
It was the reminder I needed: true strength doesn’t come from striving harder. It comes from letting God meet us in the middle of what feels too heavy to carry.
In today’s devotional, I’m sharing what changed when I stopped trying to hold everything together and started trusting God with the burdens I was never meant to bear alone.
I pray it encourages you to take a breath, release what you cannot control, and rest in God’s presence today.
With grace,
Tracey Brown

A Restorative Invitation for 2026 Lent began on February 18 this year, but if the first Sunday slipped past you in a blur of responsibilities, fatigue, or emotional noise, you are not behind. In Community of Christ, discipleship is not measured by punctuality but by authentic response. God meets us in real life, not ideal…
Dear friends,
In times when life feels paused or dim, I’ve found comfort in this truth from John 8:12:
“I am the light of the world.”
This week, I created a new nature-inspired image — a storm clearing with a single ray of light breaking through. It’s a visual sanctuary for anyone who needs a moment of peace and spiritual grounding.
Feel free to use it in your own reflections, share it with someone who needs encouragement, or simply sit with it in quiet prayer.
With warmth and light,
Tracey
