Speaking Truth as a Sacred Act of Restoration

📖 Scripture Focus
“Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth.” — Mark 5:33
✨ Devotional Commentary
There’s something holy about telling the whole truth. In Mark 5, the woman who had suffered for twelve years didn’t just receive physical healing—she reclaimed her voice. She spoke her story aloud, in front of Jesus and the crowd, trembling but honest. And He honored her.
Healing isn’t just about what happens inside us, it’s also about what we’re willing to say out loud. When we speak our truth, we break the silence that shame built. We invite God into the places we’ve hidden. And we remind ourselves that our story, in its rawness, is worthy of being heard.
💭 Personal Reflection
I used to think healing meant moving on quietly. That if I didn’t talk about the past, it would lose its grip. But silence didn’t heal me. I carried my story like a secret, afraid that speaking it would make it heavier.
One day, I shared a piece of my story with someone I trusted, I was shaking, I cried and I almost backed out. But I spoke and afterward, I felt something shift. It was emotional and spiritual. It was like I had invited God into a room I’d kept locked for years.
Since then, I’ve learned that healing deepens when I speak honestly, not perfectly, just truthfully, Even when my voice trembles, if I cry. Even if I don’t have all the answers. Because every time I speak my truth, I reclaim a part of myself that trauma tried to silence.
