In a world that often tells us who we should be—what to look like, how to speak, how to act, what to believe—it’s easy to lose sight of our truest, God-created selves. But I’ve learned, especially in my journey of healing, that staying true to who I am is not only an act of self-love—it’s an act of faith.

The scripture that speaks directly to this for me is:
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” —Psalm 139:14 (NIV)
This verse reminds me that my identity is not a mistake. Who I am—my voice, my emotions, my purpose—was wonderfully made by God. And in every stage of life, especially in moments of brokenness or uncertainty, God calls me back to that truth.
I’ll be honest—staying true to myself hasn’t always been easy. I’ve faced moments where people’s opinions felt louder than God’s voice. Times when trauma made me question my worth. Times when I molded myself to fit expectations instead of standing firm in my God-given identity.
But each time I pause, breathe, and sit with God, I’m reminded that I don’t have to be anyone else. I am called to be Tracey—flawed, growing, gifted, healing, and deeply loved.
Another verse that anchors this truth for me is:
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” —Romans 12:2 (NIV)
This world will always have patterns: comparison, judgment, perfectionism. But the Spirit invites us into transformation. To renew our minds with the truth of who God says we are—and to live from that truth.
So, today I encourage you:
Be who you are. Be who God created you to be.
That means saying no when your spirit is tired.
That means speaking up when your heart feels led.
That means showing up as your full, authentic self—even if your voice trembles.
Your journey is sacred. Your story matters. And the truest version of you is exactly who the world—and God—needs.
🖊️ Journaling Question:
Where in my life am I holding back from being my true self?
What would it look like to live more fully and freely as the person God created me to be?
🙏 Prayer:
God of love and truth,
Thank You for creating me fearfully and wonderfully.
Help me to quiet the voices of doubt and fear
and to listen more closely to Your Spirit within me.
Give me the courage to stand in who I am
and to embrace the journey of becoming
the fullest expression of Your love through my life.
May I live each day rooted in truth,
and may that truth set me free.
Amen.
