God doesn’t flinch at your story

He claims it.

a serene landscape with soft light and gentle mist

🌿 My Gentle Reflection

“Our lives are in the True One and in his Son, Jesus Christ.”
—1 John 5:20 NCV

What if someone read your entire story, every messy chapter, every hidden ache, and still chose you?
Not out of pity or obligation, but with full knowledge and full love.

That’s what God does, he sees it all.
And still, He says:

“You are mine.”

When I was younger, I used to rehearse conversations in my head before walking into a room. I would scan for what version of me felt safest: quiet me, funny me, or agreeable me. I thought if I could get it right, I would be accepted.

But one day, sitting across from a friend who had seen me cry, rage, and unravel, I apologized for being “too much.” She looked at me, steady and soft, and said:

“You’re not too much. You’re mine.”

It stunned me, not because I hadn’t heard kind words before, but because she knew the real me and still chose me.
No performance, polished or pretending. Just my presence and love.
That’s how God loves us.
What you do may surprise others, but not Him.
What you hide may feel heavy, but He already sees.
With perfect knowledge of your imperfect life, God signed on, and he didn’t flinch
He didn’t hesitate.
He said:

“This one is mine.”

So when you’re searching for perfect love,
Don’t look to people, places, or performance.
Look to the One who already knows.
Already loves you and calls you His.

✨ My Scripture of Hope

“God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
—Romans 5:8

🕊️ My Anxious Thoughts to Release

  • I have to earn love
  • If people knew the real me, they’d leave
  • God must be disappointed in me

🌸 God’s Promise to Me

  • With perfect knowledge of all my imperfections, God loves me perfectly
  • My mistakes do not stun Him
  • His grace still reaches out and saves me
  •  I am fully known and fully loved

🙏 My Prayer

God,
You know every part of me.
The parts I hide.
The parts I regret.
The parts I don’t know how to fix.
And still, You call me Yours.
Help me believe that.
Help me receive that.
Help me stop hiding and start healing.
You are my safe place.
Amen

🧠 Gentle Tools for Trusting the Next Step

1. 🛡️ Practice Picky Thinking

.The thought: “If people knew the real me, they’d leave.”
Pause.

  • Is this true? No—God knows and stays.
  • Is this kind? No—it isolates me.
  • Is this from God? No—He draws near.

Replace it with: “I am fully known and fully loved.”

2. 👽 Identify UFOs (Unhelpful, False, Overgeneralized thoughts)

  • Unhelpful: “I have to be perfect to be loved.”
  • False: “God is disappointed in me.”
  • Overgeneralized: “I always mess things up.”

I named it a UFO and gently released it.
I reminded myself: “God’s grace covers me. He signed on.”

3. 🌱 Uproot and Replant

Old belief: : “I’m too flawed to be chosen.”
I paused and chose to uproot it.

  • Is this true? No—Romans 5:8 says otherwise..
  • Is this kind? No—it overwhelms me.
  • Is this from God? No—He redeems.

I replanted truth: “God knows me fully and loves me still.”

📚 Gentle Insight: The Overflow of Being Known

Max Lucado writes in A Love Worth Giving:

“God loves each of us. Personally. Powerfully. Passionately.”

Before we can pass love on, we must receive it.
Not the kind we earn.
Not the type we perform for.
But the kind that sees our flaws and stays.

Lucado reminds us that God’s love is not cautious or conditional.
It’s overflowing.
It’s patient with our wounds.
It’s kind to our awkwardness.
It’s forgiving of our past. So today, let yourself receive it.
Let the love that knows you fully
be the love that heals you gently.
You are not too much.
You are not too broken.
You are His.
