Speaking Life Over What Was Once Silent

📖 Scripture Focus
“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” — Proverbs 18:21
✨ Devotional Commentary
Words shape worlds. Scripture doesn’t exaggerate when it says the tongue holds the power of life and death. What we speak over ourselves, others, and our circumstances can either build or break, heal or harm.
Reclaiming your voice means reclaiming your authority to speak life. Not just positivity, but truth. Not just comfort, but courage. Your words carry spiritual weight. And when you speak from a place of healing, your voice becomes a vessel for restoration, not just for you, but for those around you.
💭 Personal Reflection
I used to speak harshly to myself. Not out loud, but in my thoughts. I’d say things like “You’re too much,” or “You’ll never get it right.” And I didn’t realize how much those silent words were shaping my reality.
But as I’ve healed, I’ve started to speak differently. I catch myself mid-thought and say, “Actually, I’m doing the best I can.” Or “God is still working in me.” And those words? They change things, such as softening the shame or opening up space for grace.
Today, I spoke life over a part of me I used to reject. I looked in the mirror and said, “You’re worthy of love.” It felt awkward. I’m learning that my voice isn’t just for others…it’s for me, too, and when I speak life, I feel more alive.

God of truth and transformation,
Thank You for the power of words.
Help me speak life over my heart, my healing, and my future.
Teach me to use my voice as a tool of grace, not judgment.
