When you’re lost in the maze, look up for the voice that sees it all.

God looking down with compassion over a lush green maze nestled in a sunlit valley. It evokes divine perspective, peace, and trust

🌿 My Gentle Reflection

“No one is like the LORD our God, who rules from heaven.”
—Psalm 113:5 NCV

Max Lucado tells a story about visiting a castle in the UK.
In the center of the garden was a maze, rows of shoulder-high hedges, winding and confusing. His family made it to the tower in the center.
He didn’t.

He was stuck in the foliage.
Lost and frustrated.

Then he heard a voice from above.
“Hey, Dad,” his daughter called from the turret.
“You’re going the wrong way. Back up and turn right.”

She could see what he couldn’t, she wasn’t guessing.
She had the vantage point.

And he listened.

A few weeks ago, I felt like I was walking through a hedge maze with no map.
Every turn felt wrong, every path leading to a wall.
I kept asking, “God, am I even going the right way?”

That story resonated with me, but I kept forgetting:

  • God is above the maze. He sees the whole thing.
  • He’s not confused. He’s not panicked.
  • He’s not guessing. He’s guiding.

And when I finally stop trying to muscle my way through and just look up
I hear Him. Not with thunder. Not with shame.
But with quiet clarity:
“Back up. Turn right. I’ve got you.”

✨ My Scripture of Hope

“Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.”
—Psalm 25:4–5 NLT

🕊️ My Anxious Thoughts to Release

• I’ll never find the right path
• I’m too lost to be helped
• God is disappointed in my confusion

🌸 God’s Promise to Me

• God sees what I cannot see
• He knows the perfect path for me
• I can trust His voice above the maze
• He will lead me, step by step

🙏 My Prayer

God,
I feel lost.
I’ve hit too many dead ends.
But You see the whole picture.
You know the way through.
Help me listen to Your voice.
Help me trust Your direction.
Lead me gently, step by step.
Amen

🧠 Gentle Tools for Maze Days

When I feel stuck, I use these three tools to help me pause, listen, and trust God’s guidance.

1. 🛡️ Practice Picky Thinking

Fear whispered, “You’ll never figure this out.”
I paused.
Is this true? No—God sees the way.
Is this kind? No—it overwhelms me.
Is this from God? No—He speaks peace.
I replaced it with: “God sees what I can’t. I can trust Him.”
That shift felt like breath returning.

2. 👽 Identify UFOs (Unhelpful, False, Overgeneralized thoughts)

• Unhelpful: “I’m stuck forever.”
• False: “God won’t guide me.”
• Overgeneralized: “I always mess up.”
I named it—a UFO—and gently released it.
I reminded myself: “God is above the maze. He’s guiding me.”
That shift felt like being seen.

3. 🌱 Uproot and Replant

Old belief: “I have to figure everything out alone.”
I paused and chose to uproot it.
Is this true? No—God is with me.
Is this kind? No—it isolates me.
Is this from God? No—He offers guidance.
I replanted truth: “God sees the path. I can follow His voice.”
That shift felt like being held.

📚 Gentle Insight from God Will Use This for Good

In one chapter, Max Lucado reflects on Joseph’s story, how betrayal, detours, and delays were never wasted.
He writes:

“You’ll get through this. It won’t be painless. It won’t be quick. But God will use this mess for good.”

That’s the heart of today’s reflection.
Even when we feel stuck in the hedges, God sees the whole garden.

And He’s leading us toward something good.
