Day 3 – Tears that Testify
🌿 When Loneliness Becomes Sacred Ground🌿
📖 “I have indeed seen the misery of my people… I have heard them crying out.” — Exodus 3:7
📖 Devotional Thought
The wilderness is often misunderstood. It feels like exile, like abandonment. But in Exodus 3:7, God makes it clear—He sees, He hears, and He responds.
The Israelites cried out in their suffering, and God didn’t ignore them. He moved toward them. The wilderness became the place of encounter, not escape.
Your tears in lonely places are not wasted. They are heard. And they are often the beginning of something sacred.
💭 My Story from the Wilderness
I remember a time when I felt emotionally isolated. I was surrounded by people but felt deeply unseen. I’d cry in the shower, in my car, in the quiet corners of my day.
One afternoon, I sat on a bench in a wooded trail and whispered, “God, do You see me here?”
And I felt a phrase rise in my spirit: “I see you. I’m here.”
It wasn’t loud or dramatic. But it was enough to keep me going. Enough to remind me that the wilderness wasn’t a void it was a meeting place.
🌱 How I Incorporated the Message
I began naming my wilderness moments instead of hiding them. I’d write “Wilderness Entry” in my journal and describe what I was feeling loneliness, confusion, grief.
I also started walking the same trail weekly, calling it my “meeting place.” It became a rhythm of showing up, even when I didn’t feel God clearly. And over time, those walks became sacred.
