The Holy Work I Didn’t Schedule
Dear Friend,
I thought I was going to write about patience today. Instead, God handed me a two-year-old, a cold cup of coffee, and a family emergency I couldn’t fix.
My granddaughter is with me because her other Grandma is very ill, and her mom needs to be there.
The morning I planned quickly became a morning of snacks, toys, sippy cups, and quiet worry underneath it all. Galatians 6:9 reminded me that doing what is right often looks ordinary.
Sometimes faith is not fixing the hard thing. Sometimes it is making the room safe, holding the child in front of you, and trusting God with the rest.

The Seating Chart on My Dining Room Table

I thought the seating chart was finished.
The final file had already been sent to Staples, and I was ready to move on to painting the rustic window for my son and future daughter-in-law’s wedding. Then a text from her changed everything. A few guests had been missed. Others still hadn’t confirmed. Suddenly, a project I thought was complete was sitting right back on my dining room table.

🌿 The Wealth God Builds Within You
Hi friend,
I used to believe strength meant handling everything on my own.
The harder life became, the harder I pushed. I worked longer, worried more, and carried responsibilities that were never mine to carry alone.
One morning, I opened my laptop to write a devotional, but my mind was already racing through unfinished conversations, unanswered messages, and problems I kept trying to solve on my own.
Then I read Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3:16 that we would be “strengthened in our inner being.”
It was the reminder I needed: true strength doesn’t come from striving harder. It comes from letting God meet us in the middle of what feels too heavy to carry.
In today’s devotional, I’m sharing what changed when I stopped trying to hold everything together and started trusting God with the burdens I was never meant to bear alone.
I pray it encourages you to take a breath, release what you cannot control, and rest in God’s presence today.
