š Heās Writing Your Story
When worry tries to take the pen, let God write the next line

šæ My Gentle Reflection
Ā āSo do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Todayās trouble is enough for today.
āMatthew 6:34 NSRV
I looked at my calendar and felt the ache.
Empty squares. Unanswered questions.
Bills. Deadlines. Silence.
I whispered, āHow can I face my future?ā
And I meant it.
Max Lucado once wrote that worry splits the mind between today and tomorrow.
I felt that split.
I couldnāt focus.
I couldnāt breathe.
I couldnāt trust.
But then I remembered:
God isnāt asking me to write the whole story.
Heās asking me to live the next line.
He knows what I need.
He knows where Iāll be.
Heās already in the pages I havenāt turned yet.
So I gave Him the pen.
I stopped trying to fix next week.
I started asking for grace for today.
And the fog began to lift.
⨠My Scripture of Hope
23Ā Our steps are made firm by theĀ Lord
Ā Ā Ā Ā when he delights in ourĀ way;
24Ā though we stumble, weĀ shall not fall headlong,
Ā Ā Ā Ā for theĀ LordĀ holds usĀ by the hand.
āPsalm 37:23ā24 NSRV
šļø My Anxious Thoughts to Release
⢠I have to figure out everything ahead of time
⢠My future is too uncertain to feel safe
⢠God might forget to show up for me
šø Godās Promise to Me
⢠God knows what I need
⢠He is writing my story
⢠He will take care of me
⢠He holds me by the hand
š My Prayer
God,
Iām tired of trying to write the ending.
Iām tired of worrying about whatās next.
Help me trust You with the unwritten pages.
Help me stay present in this moment.
You are the Author.
You are faithful.
You are near.
Amen
š§ Gentle Tools for Taming My Thoughts
Inspired by Godās Story, Your Story, Chapter 3: You Find Your True Home, I used three mindset tools provided in Tame Your Thoughts to respond to worry with trust in Godās authorship.
1. š”ļø Practice Picky Thinking
Journal Entry:
Worry whispered, āYouāre not ready for whatās coming.ā
I paused.
Is this true? NoāGod prepares me.
Is this kind? Noāit overwhelms me.
Is this from God? NoāHe speaks peace.
I replaced it with: āGod will help me when the time comes.ā That shift felt like handing Him the pen.
2. š Remember Where You Belong
Journal Entry:
Same moment, same spiral.
I felt like I didnāt belong anywhere.
But Chapter 3 reminded me:
My true home isnāt in certaintyāitās in Christ.
I whispered, āI belong to You.ā
That shift felt like being anchored.
3. š± Uproot and Replant
Journal Entry:
That fear stirred up an old belief: āI have to control everything to be safe.ā
I paused and chose to uproot it.
Is this true? NoāGod is in control.
Is this kind? Noāit exhausts me.
Is this from God? NoāHe offers rest.
I replanted truth: āGod holds my hand. I donāt have to write alone.ā That shift felt like being held.
š” Chapter 3 Insight: You Find Your True Home
Max Lucado reminds us that our story is part of Godās story and that our true home is in Him.
He writes:
āYou are more than a passing guest. You are a child of the house. You belong.ā
That truth changed how I breathe through uncertainty.
I donāt have to know the ending.
I just must trust the Author.
And remember where I belong.
